Another possible duplicate is bug 862243.
Can you please do all updates on your Oneiric system and after that log
out and log in again? Does the problem still persist? Does the HP logo
show up in the notification area (upper right). If you click it, does a
menu appear? Can you start a settings dialog and also the HP toolbox
from it?
