** Description changed:
- Binary package hint: debmirror
+ The Ubuntu Archive is not publishing the Index metadata files for the
+ Translations portion of the archive; e.g. /ubuntu/dists/oneiric/i18n/ is
+ missing an Index file despite the presence of the Translations-* files.
- Hello *,
+ This causes mirroring tools like debmirror to fail to mirror the
+ Translations portion, as they're looking for the Index file to determine
+ which Translations are available. This then results in 'apt-cache show'
+ failing to display extended descriptions on systems where the apt
+ sources.list solely point at a debmirror-based mirror.
- debmirror doesn't download i18n files from any ubuntu distribution.
-
- The main problem is, that debmirror searches for an Index file in the
- repositorys, but can't find it.
-
- debmirror 2.4.4:
-
- 949 add_bytes("dists/$dist/$section/i18n/Index") if $i18n;
-
- A possible way to fixed is would be , that ubuntu (like debian) works
- with an Index file in i18n directory.
-
- rg
- marcel
+ The i18n/ Index files should also be added to the gpg-signed per-pocket
+ Release files.
