I tried that. What DID work was sudo aptitude install kubuntu-desktop
I had somehow gotten packages to a HIGHER upgrade level then they should've been at, and this broke deps. Not sure if its a bug or if I manually installed something without knowing it. Anyway aptitude downgraded for me.
