This bug is still on Oneiric. I have used

2011 i686 GNU/Linux, cat /proc/version_signature: Ubuntu 3.0.0-12.20-generic 
3.0.4. 
e1000e: 0000:02:00.0: (unregistered net_device): The NVM Checksum Is Not Valid
e1000e: probe of 0000:02:00.0 failed with error -5

I have tried the eeprom_bad_csum_allow parametr, but it is not known by
e1000e modul.
