I have used http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/oneiric/main/installer-i386/current/images/netboot/ubuntu-installer/i386/ linux kernel and initrd for instalation on IBM/Lenovo T60 (Type 2007-FSG), uname -a: Linux (none) 3.0.0-12-generic #20-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 7 14:50:42 UTC 2011 i686 GNU/Linux, cat /proc/version_signature: Ubuntu 3.0.0-12.20-generic 3.0.4. e1000e: 0000:02:00.0: (unregistered net_device): The NVM Checksum Is Not Valid e1000e: probe of 0000:02:00.0 failed with error -5
