In Oneiric the interface has changed again. The menu entry for IPP
printers now only allows entering the full URI. If the printer is not
one of the auto-detected network printers (wait until the animated
circle at the lower left of the window disappears), try "Find network
printer" and enter hostname or IP of the printer (or hostname or IP of a
remote CUPS server), and let it be searched. If the entered host is a
printer or CUPS server, the possibilities to connect to it are listed
under "Connections" below. On network printers usually JetDirect/Socket
works best.

Please try and tell here whether this solves your problems.
