Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: mozilla-thunderbird

This is very easy to reproduce.
1) Start a new message.
2) Save that message (The original occurance happened after the system
auto-saved, so that would count too.)
3) Add a bullet to the body of the message and enter some text.
4) Hit enter, and then the indent button (as you would to create a nested empty
bullet).
If you still see Thunderbird, it didn't fail for you as it does for me.

Work-around:
Create all your bullets (with text), and then indent them after they are
created.

** Affects: thunderbird (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
