Ok, well the instances where the crash reporter pops up a minute after boot but the system is otherwise usable, is going to just be another instance of #828684. The crash handler is going to be turned off for oneiric within the next week or so, and that will essentially be the end of that. (Hopefully we can suppress the notice better in P*).
However, the case where the system does lock up solid is more interesting. Next time you're able to reproduce that, please ssh into the box and collect the output of `dmesg` and your /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/i915_error_state file, and post to this bug. We'll focus this report on that particular issue. Thanks for noting about the unity menu; you're right it's probably just a side effect (or possibly even unrelated) but worth mentioning. Every detail can help. ** Summary changed: - [gm45] False GPU lockup EIR: 0x00000010 PGTBL_ER: 0x00100000 + [gm45] GPU lockup -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/857769 Title: [gm45] GPU lockup To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/857769/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
