Public bug reported: I've experienced a kernel panic in the same ecryptfs code twice now. It happens when I simply run the Launchpad development environment, and both times it happened when I started all the local soyuz services and then did a "make run". The dmesg file includes info about some problems with ecryptfs around boot time. The traceback looks like the one in bug #813146 comment #23. What happens next is that system seems to remain fully usable, but graphical authentication stops working inside the session (I had a problem where gnome-screensaver locked me out of the session until I killed it from the virtual console, and gksu doesn't accept my password either when a program asks for it [like apport did for this bug submission]: gksu also works when ran from a terminal, though). The last time I rebooted after the panic, I also lost some of my files and changes done after the panic, so I will be rebooting as soon as I file this bug. I'll be marking this as duplicate of #813146 and confirming that again, but I wanted the apport metadata recorded as well.
