I am having the same issue on my HP 8560w. I always get to the same point once I boot into the USB drive. If I don't make a selection soon, it just jumps right into it and then stalls on the same part mentioned above. Even if I do make a point to select the Run from USB option I always get to the same stalling point:
.... sd 6:0:0:0: [sdb] Write Protect is off sd 6:0:0:0: [sdb] Mode Sense: 23 00 00 00 sd 6:0:0:0: [sdb] No Caching mode page present sd 6:0:0:0: [sdb] Assuming drive cache: write through sd 6:0:0:0: [sdb] No Caching mode page present sd 6:0:0:0: [sdb] Assuming drive cache: write through sdb: sdb1 sd 6:0:0:0: [sdb] No Caching mode page present sd 6:0:0:0: [sdb] Assuming drive cache: write through sd 6:0:0:0: [sdb] Attached SCSI removable disk (blinking cursor hang) I've tried it with and without the "Fan Always On..." setting and it makes no difference. Any help? I'm trying to get this into a dual-boot system because my office requires me to use XP at work (bleh) and I want to have something interesting to use at home. XP can't even make use of all the great hardware that comes with this laptop. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/864739 Title: Ubuntu doesn't work on HP Elitebook 8560w To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/864739/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
