Public bug reported:
Cheese will not operate properly with an external webcam. It used to
work properly in 10.10. It worked for while with 11.04...and worked for
a while with 11.10. It seems to work whenever there is a change to the
kernel....but after working for the first time, it no longer works after
that....even if you reboot.
