I'm glad you could complete the upgrade. On the wifi problem if you
believe it is a configuration problem then may be you can get help in
some forum, for instance the guys at "General Help":
ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=331
are usually quite friendly. If you believe it is a bug you can open one
against "network-manager":
ubuntu-bug network-manager
