This bug is still present in a fresh install of Ubuntu 11.10 amd64.
But the workaround is pretty easy: start "alsamixer" in a terminal. Use the "right-arrow"-key for navigating to the item "S/PDIF Output" and press "m"-key so that the bracket of S/PDIF Output appears green. Then it should look like the attached screenshot and S/PDIF Out works fine :-) But a fix would be anyway nice ;-) ** Attachment added: "Alsamixer - S/PDIF Output enabled" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/778051/+attachment/2549964/+files/Screenshot%20at%202011-10-16%2012%3A07%3A28.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/778051 Title: S/PDIF outputs are mute (optical and coax) by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/778051/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
