Public bug reported:
The problem appears after upgrading 10.04 to 11.10.
Enclosed are pulseaudio syslog entries produced by running:
grep -E '(pulseaudio|alsa-sink)' /var/log/syslog > pulseaudio.log
To reproduce the bug, create io load spike by running:
cat medium_size_file_not_in_filecache > /dev/null
.. while playing song with mplayer or rhythmbox.
I tried changing scheduler to deadline, but it didn't have much effect.
echo "deadline" | sudo tee /sys/block/sda/queue/scheduler
echo "deadline" | sudo tee /sys/block/sdb/queue/scheduler
echo "deadline" | sudo tee /sys/block/sdc/queue/scheduler
I get the skipping even if the file played is (most likely) in
filecache. I tried to ensure this by running cat song.flac > /dev/null
just before playing the song.
