Public bug reported:

I have a
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 6 Series/C200 Series Chipset Family
High Definition Audio Controller (rev 05)
onboard-Soundcard. I can play music and adjust the volume level with alsamixer
and out of applications like banshee and totem, but the system-settings and
sound-indicator claim, that i do not have a soundcard.

I am working on a Ubuntu 11.10, unfortunatly I do not know which
packages are involved in this problem.

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
