** Description changed:

I tried installing the Ubuntu 11.10 x64 on my Asus 1215B netbook. I
tried installing by booting into the USB to install, but all I get is a
black screen after selecting any of the options such as Trying it,
installing it now and checking the disc for defects. They all result in
a black screen for awhile and then reboots.

The other way I tried installing it was by Wubi inside Windows. Nearing
the end of the installation, I get an error. Text file is included.

I am unable to provide anything else such as apport-collect 873694,
  because I cannot install Ubuntu.

+ Edit: I tried x86 and it also has the same problem.

- Edit: I tried x86 and it also has the same problem.
+ Update Oct 17: After countless times trying to install Ubuntu 11.10, I
+ have successfully installed it.
+
+ After my attempt to install via Alternate version, it failed, but after
+ trying the x64 again, I was able to see the graphical menu. My first try
+ resulted in a black screen with text, but my second attempt after that
+ was successful. I don't know what the cause was that made it so
+ difficult to install Ubuntu, but I have finally gotten it installed. I
+ think this can be closed now.
