Dear Mat, Ubuntu 11.10 sofware center did not provide a textual search bar to navigate applications as we have with U 11.04. Due to this & many other bugs I dropped back to 11.04. I will wait for U 11.10 or maybe U 12.x before I upgrade. We suffer from conflicting application with Ubuntu since introduction of Unity. I can live with Unity although it's DULL & BORING in comparison to other Docs. 3d is not being exploited to capacity.
U 11.10 Update Manager does not function at all well. Apps installed are not providing "more" to add or remove applets. Apps removed are still being upgraded & aditional applets offered in the list. Again I dropped back to the robust reliable logical U 11.04 to regain sensible update management :) [image: Screenshot.png] Textual search seen in U 11.04 this was missing from U 11.10. Perhaps a simple missing (tick) from a box I simply could not be bothered to search for. I need an OS than "works for me" I don't wish to become a programmer to make basic OS function. I am happy with U 10.04 I can work with it & look forwards to Unity 3d with full exploitation of WoW features. eg whirlpool swirl zoom in & out of windows etc. IE Linux Mint 11 (wow it sure looks cool) Pitty L 11 was unable to locate my WIFI. Again having installed from usb pen which found wifi. The actual intsllation was unable to repeat same. I could have setup wifi myself. But once again I need an OS that "works for me" not an OS that demans that I "work for it". I'm unable to provide image of U 11.10 Upgdrade manager acting dumb cuz I removed U 11.10. Hope this helps in some way Mat. On 17 October 2011 17:56, Matthew Paul Thomas <[email protected]> wrote: > It's not clear what this bug report is about.
