Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg
Using the LiveCD for Ubuntu Feisty 7.04, the "Safe Graphics Mode" consistently results in a 800x600 screen that has about a corrupt 1 inch band on the right side. I happened on to this by accident. I chose "Safe Graphics Mode" simply because I was actually looking for a text-mode installer (which I guess does not exist except on server versions). I have no problems with the regular LiveCD mode of "Start or Install Ubuntu" which is a perfect 1024x768 (correct for this X41 Tablet). I sent Hardware Inventories in both the "Safe Graphics Mode" (broken) and "Start or Install Ubuntu" (working). I dug up the submission IDs from the Hardware Inventory application as well as, xorg.conf, /var/log/messages, /var/log/xorg.0.log, lspci, /var/log/gdm/:0.log in both broken and working modes and I'll attach them as soon as I figure out how. :-) ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- LiveCD Safe Graphics Mode fails IBM X41 Tablet https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/114562 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
