I have this issue on core i5 with mobility radeon hd 5000 series and intel integrated graphics. I get the powerxpress error, which I don't see listed here, but is listed on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/852355 which is marked as a duplicate of this bug. This page https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=937766#p937766 and this page https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=119291 list possible solutions and workarounds that seem to indicate the archlinux community has experienced and fixed this issue. Perhaps someone more able could apply this to Ubuntu?
