Public bug reported:
I installed heirloom-mailx onto a fresh Ubuntu 11.10. Sending a mail
using "mail recipient@example" fails with the following output:
haase@host01-new:~$ mail haase
Subject: Test
.
EOT
/usr/lib/sendmail: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden
haase@host01-new:~$ "/home/haase/dead.letter" 9/197
. . . message not sent.
So, installing a MTA should not only be a recommendation, but a real
dependency of heirloom-mailx
Additional stuff:
haase@host01-new:~$ lsb_release -rd
