Thanks for your bug report.
- Synaptiks and kcharselect desktop files are installed in
/usr/share/applications/kde4/, which is not read by default by the Xfce
menu (otherwise, if you install alongside KDE and Xfce, the menu
experience will be terrible).
- evolution.desktop contains the following categories:
GNOME;GTK;Office;Email;Calendar;ContactManagement;X-Red-Hat-Base;.
Internet is not one of them.
