Did not work for me, either.  Interestingly, this bug does not appear on
my netbook, just my desktop.  But, the bug maintains across reinstalls.
I even just had to reinstall from scratch due to a PSU failure and HDD
corruption and the same problem behavior exists.  But, the netbook has
never had the problem.  Both are running Ubuntu 11.04 x86_64 with almost
exactly the same configurations.  The desktop does have more Compiz
plugins enabled, though.  Given the other bugs related to Compiz
settings, I wonder if this is related to a Compiz plugin?  I may need to
see if disabling any of the Compiz plugins resolves it.
