Autocompletion is not a dash feature, and is unlikely to be added in the
future.
Did you mean bash? If so, you should reopen this bug, and change the
package to bash, rather than dash. However, I'll note that when I have
bash's autocompletion enabled, ssh hostname completion does indeed work
(it doesn't use /etc/hosts; it uses ~/.ssh/known_hosts).
