I tested with:
Ubuntu 11.10, kernel 3.1.0-030100rc10-generic
Ubuntu 11.10, kernel 3.1.0-999-generic
Ubuntu 11.10, kernel 3.1.0-996-generic

With none of the kernels lightdm started, however I checked on the
terminal and ifconfig did never show wlan0. If I should check something
else, please tell me. As the bug exitsts, I'll add kernel-bug-exists-
upstream.
