i don't think this problem is really coming from ubuntu. the same thing happens on every distro running kernel 3.x that i tried on this laptop. i read somewhere about modifying the dsdt something, but i don't really understand it, tried but didn't work. the shortcut alt+f3 works fine with kernel 2.39.
