There are several areas of concern in this report. You may be experiencing a
hardware failure (RAM or disk). I suggest rebooting and selecting the memory
checker (hold the shift key to bring up the grub menu to select it after the
BIOS posts). If that works, you may want to perform a manual filesystem check
by doing:
$ sudo touch /forcefsck
then rebooting. You will likely need to perform various manual steps to get
your package state in order. I would recommend starting with:
$ sudo dpkg --purge --force-depends libbrasero-media0
$ sudo apt-get install -f install
$ sudo apt-get upgrade
$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
$ sudo apt-get install --install-recommends ubuntu-desktop
