Just posted this as Bug #879414. Below is the description. Added it here because this may be the same bug?
Edubuntu 11.10 64bit. Intel Corporation WIFI Link 5100 on a 64bit Sony VAIO Wireless works flawlessly with LiveCD. Post install, however, wireless doesn't work. During install, I checked off the option to install the wireless network. Symptoms (after installed reboot): 1.) No wireless networks are shown as being available. 2.) The wireless network which had been installed does not work. 3.) If one disables wireless networking, it cannot be re-enabled without restarting. Removed installation and installed Xubuntu 11.10. Wireless works flawlessly after installation. The problems 'seems' to be Unity/Gnome related? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/842007 Title: Intel Wifi 5100 not working on Oneiric and Kernel 3.0 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/842007/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
