I found the solution: renaming the file "/usr/share/applications/Steel Storm: Burning Retribution.desktop" to "/usr/share/applications/steelstorm".
On the commandline you can do this with the command (without quotes): "sudo mv /usr/share/applications/Steel Storm: Burning Retribution.desktop /usr/share/applications/steelstorm.desktop" Apparently the dash is not able to parse *.deskop files with whitespaces in the filename. I reported a separate bug about that in: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/879889 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/803249 Title: Cannot launch "Steel Storm" from Dash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity-2d/+bug/803249/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
