Public bug reported:

How to reproduce: press super, type in 'terminal', press enter; do all
of this before the search results are displayed.

Expected: the first result (ie. Terminal) is executed.

Observed: the enter keypress is ignored.

The problem with this behavior is that it makes you wait for the
gui/search to be ready. Instead of giving the system a command, you have
a conversation with it, which can be distracting from the task you're
currently working on.

** Affects: unity (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
