Hi psypher, as said in #30 I don't write to the xorg-file wiht nvidia settings (what one might do), only use a minimal. In very very old days, some monitors need to have appropriate modelines: see https://wiki.blue-it.org/Xserver_Issues#Modline_generator
@#35: Did you install the package unity-desktop. Probably there are some packages missing? What "theme" is missing?: Lightdm or nautilus? Did you use any ppa's in former times? Or any other window-managers like emerald or so? Expo I cannot try in the moment, because I am on xfce4 in the moment - sorry (and I would open another bug on this). @#36: other bug.
