Hello Well, if installed with wubi, in reality you are running Ubuntu inside Windows You can try Ubuntu in a live environement using a usb key or a live cd: http://www.ubuntu.com/download/ubuntu/download and see how it works without installing on your system. obviously to have the maximum of the performance you have to install it on the hard disk and outside windows.
