I have the same problem, so does these users in Ubuntu Forums:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1864366

Additional info:
I have an ATI Graphic card and dual monitors (TV via HDMI). The menus always
stays on my second monitor, and if I hold one menu open and move the mouse to
the first monitor, the menus on th first monitor stays.

On my first monitor, the menus disappears if I let go of the mouse button.
BUT, if i release the mouse button over a grey, in-active menu choice, the menu
stays, and I can move the mouse to another indicator menu. For instance, I
have a wired Network, so the Wired Network menu alternative is grayed out. If I
release the mouse button there, the menu stays, and I can move the mouse to the
Sound Indicator. Also, if I go to a sub-menu (for instance more networks), the
menu stays.

And I recently installed 11.04 on a laptop with a single monitor, and
didn't have any indicator problems.
