The launcher only autohides when a window is maximized or pushed past its edge. However, "pushed past its edge" is much *much* too easy to trigger. Windows should snap to the edge of the launcher the same way they snap to the edge of the screen, so pushing them up against the launcher doesn't hide it with only 1-2px overlap.
