Laptop has began resuming normally.

Regarding Unity, I understand the changes and the move to unity as well
as many of the gnome3 modifications will make the interface better for
many.  The modifications look good for those who have small screens
where large icons and automatic hiding is  very functional.  However, I
stay away from small screens.  My laptop is 17" and I run duel monitors
on my desktops.  I do not use netbooks  as the keyboards are
uncomfortably small.  Tablets are just plain inconvenient to use as one
had is always required to hold the thing.  I moved to ubuntu to get away
from the direction Windows was taking and while my wife and daughter
like Apple stuff I dislike it more than windows.  Thanks to ubuntu I
have found xfce and now use xubuntu.  Good luck with unity but its not
for me.
