Actually I do not need to set "GRUB_GFXPAYLOAD_LINUX=1024x768" any longer. It is enough to use the line "GRUB_GFXMODE=1024x768"
However, Plymouth theme still does not load properly and I have uninstalled all Plymouth theming.
