Public bug reported:

I use Xubuntu feisty. When I choose hibernate, my computer shuts down,
but when I wake it, it acts as if it never went into hibernation, I get
a normal login screen.

When I choose suspend, my computer doesn´t shut down the hard disk, the
screen goes blank though, and when I move the mouse I get a login
screen. So suspend seems to act as a screen blank with a loginscreen.

To get around this disfunctionality I installed the hibernate package
using synaptics package manager. Using a terminal I run hibernate. It
seems to work just fine were it not that after waking the computer from
hibernation everything seems ok but not the keyboard (and the
internetconnection via pcmcia, but that is not the main problem now). So
concluding, the Xubuntu hibernation and suspend functions are broken.
Installing the hibernate package gets some functionality, but the
keyboard doesn´t wake.
