Public bug reported:

I have Feisty on a Lenovo T60; and I don't think this happened in Edgy
(which I only had a few days). Pressing Fn+Home/End will move the
screen's brightness level up and down, but the little applet Gnome puts
up doesn't reflect that. If my laptop's plugged in, the applet will
always show full brightness even if I turn it down; when it's unplugged,
it will always show the default medium-brightness setting even if I'm
changing it to maximum brightness again.

** Affects: Ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
