Public bug reported:

krb5-auth-dialog starts, but terminates immediately, because necessary
components not running at starting time. Starting it later using

krb5-auth-dialog &

leaves it running and working as expected until the user logs out.
Logging in again you'll have to start krb5-auth-dialog again manually.
