Sorry, I actually found this message is non-fatal. It would still be nice to get rid of it, and possibly of the side effects (which I haven't seen so far).
vmplayer was not starting because of a configuration problem (having had vmware-server earlier on the machine, which I removed, but /etc/vmware existed). It's especially bad as nothing is printed (apart from the unrelated error above), it just doesn't start. I know there is already bug #47538 about this, also with different symptoms. What about detecting the presence of /etc/vmware on a first installation of the package, and at least print a warning about it? -- vmplayer: /usr/lib/vmware-player/lib/libpng12.so.0/libpng12.so.0: no version information available https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/114989 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
