Actually, according to the KDE network manager the Wi-Fi is allways off - there
are no hotspots and the checkbox "Enable wireless" is unchecked allways. When I
click "Enable wireless" the checkbox becomes checked for a moment and then
unchecks itself.
I can see hotspots only in the terminal after "sudo ifconfig wlan0 up" and then
"sudo iwlist wlan0 scan".
And even then the checkbox "Enable wireless" in the network manager stays
unchecked and there are no hotspots in the network manager menu.
Wicd works by the way - it detects all hotspots and connects without problems.
It's strange to have these problems - my Wi-Fi card has been working flawlessly
with the last 3-4 ubuntu releases.
