When i right-click on network applet and click on "activate wireless netwrk", it works : wireless device is activated and i can connect to the network. Wireless led is on.
When i use fn+f2, wireless led is on, but in network applet, it says "device not ready". So i think it is just the action triggered by the combination fn+f2 that is not acting as expected. ** Summary changed: - wifi otkeys doe snot work as expected on eeepc 1005 in Ubuntu 11.10 + wifi hotkeys does not work as expected on eeepc 1005 in Ubuntu 11.10 ** Description changed: - Hotkey fn+f2 i supposed to toggle wifi on/off. That's the way it was + Hotkey fn+f2 is supposed to toggle wifi on/off. That's the way it was working on ubuntu 10.10 and 11.04. I have updated from 11.04 to 11.10. When wifi is toggled on at startup, i can connect to wireless network. If i toggled it off and then on again, network manager says "device not ready". And i can't connect to wireless network anymore. Same situation if i start the computer with wifi disable. To make it working again, i have to do sudo rmmod ath9k / sudo modprobe ath9k while wifi is toggled on. I have also formatted my computer and done a claen install of ubuntu 11.10 but i have still the same issue. I don't know which package is affected... - --- + --- AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.24.
