I now checked this issue against lucid. And there is an option in the
account configuration for proxy configuration. Available options are
Gnome Proxy, no proxy, socks4 and 5 and manual configuration. I guess
this adresses this issue? Or would you argue this ticket is only fixed
once the default changed from "Gnome proxy" to "no proxy"?
