Shadows of most application menus (Firefox being an exception) are drawn by the window manager/compositor. Metacity has the capability to draw these, but it is disabled by default as Unity2D should run everywhere.
As Lohith suggests, you can enable them with gconf-editor by changing /app/metacity/general/compositor_effects setting. However older hardware may find this problematic, so use this setting with caution. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/717657 Title: [panel] Application Menus dont have shadows when using compiz To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity-2d/+bug/717657/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
