Same problem here, but I have a few more details.
Computer IS booting, but X is not starting. Instead, all I get is a
blank screen. Splash screen flashes, then the screen goes blank.
Control-alt-F1 is not working to get to a terminal either, but I could
access the machine through SSH.
I had the emgd drivers installed for Natty and tried updating to the
"testing" version for Oneiric. No luck.
Relevant portion of the Xorg.0.log file
