I can only suggest to never upgrade to a pre release version or the risks are
bugs like this.

Title:
11.04 Beta has crashed out and will not load GUI at all. it flicks on
and off for a few seconds and then drops to a blank black screen. I
can then Alt+F5 etc into console.
