I haven't tried to upgrade yet, because I'm nervous that the problem with the current system configuration will break the upgrade. Every software install and upgrade returns errors in configuring CUPS and ACPID, as follows: E: acpid: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 100 E: cups: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 100
That said, I was able to successfully install the Brother packages onto a Virtual Box of Ubuntu 11.04. Printing works fine through there. I subsequently upgraded that virtual box to 11.10 and the printer packages continue to work. I would love to fix this problem sooner rather than later, but won't have the free time to work on it until perhaps the end of December; I need a full day to attempt the upgrade in case it fails, and if it fails, I need another day or two free to reinstall and reconfigure my system, which means I'll probably have to live with a broken configuration until the new year holiday. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/805356 Title: Canon drivers printing broken in Natty Narwhal, 11.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/805356/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
