Confirmed using a fresh Ubuntu 11.10 i386 installation disk. I installed Ubuntu
following the "steps to reproduce" section, then installed the packages:
language-pack-gnome-zh-hant - 11.10+20111006_all
language-pack-gnome-zh-hant-base - 11.10+20111006_all
language-pack-zh-hant - 11.10+20111006_all
language-pack-zh-hant-base - 11.10+20111006_all
from the Terminal using dpkg, then logged out, logged back in and performed the
check.
Installing choosing the Chinese language in gfxboot (the initial CD prompt)
leads to the following /etc/default/locale file:
LANG="zh_TW"
LANGUAGE="zh_TW:zh"
LC_MESSAGES="zh_TW.UTF-8"
LC_CTYPE="zh_TW.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="zh_TW.UTF-8"
while choosing English creates this one:
LANG="zh_TW.UTF-8"
LANGUAGE="zh_TW:zh"
Seems like bug #771510 was not really closed.
