Hi there. This was definitely not in previous version of kernel, as Natty and Maverick didn't have this problem.
I tried last night again and for some strange reason, it now works. All I can think of is that one of the updates I've applied in the past few days has also fixed this problem. But I don't know which one.... -_- I guess this bug can be closed as it is fixed, albeit inadvertently.... Thanks for your time on this.
