Thank you for using Ubuntu and reporting a bug. This is not something
that we are going to diverge from Debian on. Since Debian provided the
script, it makes sense to report this bug in the Debian BTS. Since you
find the script generally useful on more than just Debian-based systems,
perhaps you should submit this for upstream inclusion.
