Fabio

Based on your assumption I will investigate here by downloading the ISO
file again, burning slowly to a CD.

I will test the memory of the PC and try again to Install this OS in a
side by side fashion.

Installation on dev/sda 15 16 and 17 (/ /home and swap) but i will
also try on just 15 and 17 ? and swap. Should I try just using 14 as
swap for both OS systems.

After that I am at a loss as to what I could try.

How is my DVD drive capable of writing a CD which is capable of
successfully running the on-board test-CD for correctness, yet when
installing the system asks for the same CD already installed to be
placed in the drive. This also accured on the 11.04 alternative CD.

How can i find out what is happening?
I have checked the two partitions 15 and 16 they are okay.
I was advised to only install on primary partitions but as you can see I
am running on logical partitions SDA9 as / 14 as swap.
