same issue on my Lenovo X100e. when I hit ESC I see the terminal and it shows repeating blocks of the following message: unable to connect to system bus: Failed to connect to socket /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket: Connection refused modem-manager[514]: Could not get the system bus.
